We allow seven days for our guided Haute Route ski trip. This allows for a warm up and assessment day with the guide before setting off, and a reasonable contingency time in the schedule should bad weather intervene. This also makes for a much more relaxing and enjoyable trip. Our Chamonix - Zermatt Haute Route itinerary follows the standard route via Verbier. We will be staying in refuges for all five nights of the trip, so we will only be carrying food and water required for each day.Trip Guide
Before undertaking the Chamonix - Zermatt Haute Route ski tour, you need to have a good level of fitness in order to sustain seven days of consistent effort. You should have some previous experience of ski touring and backcountry skiing, so that you are familiar with gear and techniques and you should know how to handle all sorts of off-piste snow conditions.
