We can visit the impressive Amber Fort on elephant-back and watch the sun rise on the magnificent Taj Mahal. Continuing our journey by sleeper train to Varanasi, an early morning boat ride on the sacred River Ganges is amongst the undoubted highlights of the holiday. Crossing the border into Nepal, we visit the birthplace of Buddha at Lumbini, enjoy a variety of wildlife activities at Chitwan National Park and complete this sensational holiday with a day's exploration amongst Kathmandu's colourful temples. Adventure guaranteed - from the plains of India to the mountain kingdom of Nepal!
Is this holiday for you?
This is an active touring trip which involves some easy walking mostly when visiting monuments, forts etc. We will walk for a few hours (slowly and with with plenty of stops) on at least one of the wildlife safaris we undertake while staying in Chitwan National Park. Naturally there is a fair amount of time spent in vehicles but the itinerary is designed to minimise the number of long journeys and with 2-night stays in Jaipur, Varanasi and Chitwan, this should not feel like an arduous overland journey.
