Our 2 week touring holiday starts with Delhi sightseeing including a walk through the market of Chandni Chowk and a rickshaw ride to see the Red Fort. We then drive south into the princely state of Rajasthan where we have a day of guided sightseeing in each of the famous cities of Agra and Jaipur, including an unforgetable sunrise on the Taj Mahal and a visit by elephant back to the impressive Amber Fort. Continuing by sleeper train to Varanasi, a boat ride on the sacred River Ganges is amongst the undoubted highlights of the holiday. Adventure guaranteed - from the plains of India to the mountain kingdom of Nepal! Is this holiday for you?
This is an active touring trip which involves some easy walking mostly when visiting monuments, forts etc. We will walk for a few hours (slowly and with with plenty of stops) on at least one of the wildlife safaris we undertake while staying in Chitwan National Park. Naturally there is a fair amount of time spent in vehicles but the itinerary is so designed to minimise the number of long journeys and with 2-night stays in Jaipur, Varanasi and Chitwan, this should not feel like an arduous overland journey.
