Everest Base Camp Trek

Bala was outstanding as a leader and the other guides and baggage carriers were excellent. They were helpful, sociable, knowledgeable and caring. They became our friends and it was sad leaving them.

Without going over the top, Ben Walker (trip leader) was excellent. His leadership and friendship made the whole experience fantastic. His knowledge and passion for the outdoors was infectious. Well done and thanks Ben.

I had an excellent trip and would like to thank everyone at KE for making it such a memorable Holiday.

The support crew were some of the nicest & most attentive people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The sirdar, Sunam, his son Pusan, & both our sherpas were absolutely fantastic. They couldn't help us enough. All of the experience was enlightening & fascinating, but meeting the local crew & interacting with them was for me the most satisfying part. This was my first trek to this part of the world, & was a little apprehensive about spending so much time with people from a completely different culture.

Could not fault the crew who we saw regularly - the Sirdar was extremely good as were the porters, and how the cook and his crew managed to serve up 3 interesting cooked meals a day (plus 2 birthday cakes!) on basic equipment I'll never know! The office staff were all excellent. Has given me confidence to recommend KE to anyone interested in this or other trips.

The trip was wonderful and totally worthwhile. I loved the little "extra" things like tent tea! The trekking staff was great in every way. I will be booking further trips through KE in the future! Ade (our leader) was great, obviously very experienced and enthusiastic about what he does. I'd love to go on another trip with him as a leader. I heard about KE via lots of internet research on Everest Base Camp treks. I was impressed by the National Geographic award along with the reasonable pricing of the trek.

Sarah (trek leader) was fantastic. She showed great professionalism in rather trying circumstances always with a smile and time for all. Cannot praise enough, very well done Sarah!

I was very impressed with KE's response to the Lukla airport closure. Steps taken to plan a very enjoyable albeit last-minute alternative trip that started with getting out of Kathmandu ensured disappointment associated with cancellation of EBT trip quickly dissipated. KE's demonstrated customer focus was a powerful promotional exercise and will more than justify logistical and economic challenges over time in what is likely to be a very competitive industry. I have and will continue to give positive feedback on KE to colleagues and friends based on my experience.

The best holiday we have ever had! It far exceeded our expectations, mainly due to the fantastic weather we experienced and the quality and knowledge of our guide. The holiday was excellent value and we had read nothing but good reviews about KE. You are one of the few companies which offer the opportunity to go both to Everest base camp and up Kala Patar. We would also like to emphasise how much we enjoyed having Serena as our guide - can't imagine how anybody could have been a better trek leader or more knowledgeable about the Everest region. The local sherpas/cook crew were also absolutely fantastic and put maximum effort into making sure the group was well looked after.

The group - and I include not only the trekkers but also the leader and support staff - formed a powerful bond of respect and friendship. The trek brought together a group of people from a variety of very disparate backgrounds and circumstances, who quickly developed warm and respectful relationships. Although many of us may never meet again, I count myself privileged to have been in a unique environment with a wonderful group of people. Although I have waited to take this journey for 40 years, the impact of the trip was way beyond my expectations. Nothing could have prepared me for the physical and emotional impact of Nepal, the mountains and its people.

The people and culture were amazing; the sense of isolation and remoteness of the Himalayas away from cars, engines and noise; the spectacular scenery, from alpine valleys through to towering mountains; the comradery of the group; the personal challenge of long walks and getting up to such high altitudes; the naked beauty and spectacular geology of the Khumbu glacier and the Everest Basecamp region. Oh, and the food was excellent too!

I just want to especially compliment our trip leader, Carl, for his excellent work. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and effective in terms of the technical parts of the adventure (route, athletic advice, etc.) and also did an amazing job helping the group gel socially. He was truly a pleasure to work with and always made sure everyone was enjoying themselves and included. Couldn't have asked for a better guide.

We received a lot of very helpful advice from the office staff before we booked.
We were very well looked after in Kathmandu and on the trek and the local team were fantastic I cannot speak too highly of Ben as our trip leader. He was caring, enthusistic, supportive, had a very good local knoweldge and was always willing to offer help and advice or push us further when he thought we needed it. He was a true gentleman and a great leader. We would have followed him anywhere - and clearly did!
I did enjoy the trek although I didn't think I would be saying that half way through when it was very tough going. However I did it and feel very proud of myself for getting to base Camp. The team! We had a great group of 14 of us from all walks of life and it was great to meet up with like minded people and walk together. I also enjoyed the time in Kathmandu at the end of the trek as it gave us time to relax and chat over our experiences before organising ourselves to go back to the UK.
We did some research on the Internet and having seen your brochure and chatted to staff in the office we felt that you knew the area and had some excellenmt knowledge and advice to offer. As new trekkers we were uncertain how to proceed but you gave us total confidence that you would be able to handle all aspects of our tour and we decided to book with you. You certainly fulfilled your side of things and we had no complaints about the organisation.
