Carlos was ideal. His presence as our trip leader was exceptional. I learned quite a bit about all facets of Ecuador. He was excellent at keeping our group engaged and during some tougher treks motivated. As our group commented, the best any of the group had ever had. Hope all other KE groups have the opportunity to have Carlos as their trip leader.
Ideal holiday for me. Appropriate in terms of trekking effort, lovely fellow travelers, and interesting culture/geography. We saw a volcano erupt while in Banos (from a safe distance), tried local food (guinea pig), had excellent trekking days with great views and enjoyed visiting towns like Otavalo.

Our guide was a fountain of knowledge about the history of Ecuador.

I enjoyed the most getting to the top of Cotopaxi, the large variety of flowers to photograph and the exotic fruit juices with the meals!

The trek was an exciting and memorable experience. The local guide, Jaime, could not have been more helpful, and was full of information and useful advice. The hotels, food and travel arrangements were excellent. The driver of the trek mini-bus, Juan, was really helpful, and we all found him to be a great asset during the trek.

I found the trek overall very challenging but also personally most satisfying.A great 2 weeks!

I had a wonderful trip, and was very happy overall with KE's services. I enjoyed the people in my group, and was able to see so much of Ecuador in a short time. I would highly recommend KE and look forward to another trip in the future.

I've been on many group hiking trips and Mauricio was one of the best guides I have ever had.

Gosh, 'excellent' is becoming boring! I had been a bit concerned beforehand because of the altitude involved (over 5,000m) although I had been this high before without problems. However, the acclimatisation programme was subtle but excellent and I was well within my comfort zone. I loved Ecuador - despite the rather Scottish weather - and was impressed that you'd managed to arrange for Tungurahua to erupt impressively at the end of the trip!
As usual the mix of other people on the trip was excellent and we all got on well, adding to the experience.
I loved the country and particularly the variety of habitats and wildlife on offer. It was good to have a leader who was knowledgeable on plants and didn't mind stopping to look and answer questions. We also saw two condors! I also enjoyed the chocolate and the rum and raisin ice cream!
This was my seventh trip with KE and won't be my last.
