Perfectly organised trip. Very adequate acclimatisation before actual climbs, first time ever that I was actually really able to do all climbs. Three times near and over 6000 m without health problems whatsoever!
High standards throughout : accommodation, food, care, safety all very OK,and very relaxed atmosphere thanks to Diego and his outstanding crew of assisant guides.

The staff at the KE office are excellent and knowledgeable. I needed to arrange to book the trip but leave one day early at the end and the office were able to accommodate this and deal with my questions very promptly. Fabulous customer service, as always.
Our trip leader Edison is the best guide ever. His knowledge of Ecuador is amazing and he is always smiling. This was my first climbing trip and was very impressed by the professionalism and ability of the mountain guides and felt 100% safe at all times. Paco, the chef was brilliant. He cooked the best trout I have ever eaten on a camp stove...very talented.
Enjoying the sunrise above the clouds on Cotopaxi and Chimborazo and reaching the summit of Cotopaxi.

I don't know where to start. I enjoyed it all. It is by far the best trip of this kind that I have done. The choice of hotels was excellent. The itinerary was varied and interesting and the support on the mountains was brilliant. The food was excellent too as was the transport. It was better than I hoped. It was my first time travelling on my own so I was quite anxious at the beginning of the trip. After only a day I felt very much at home and comfortable with the group and guide. Diego was an excellent guide and was very much liked and respected by the group. I heard about KE from some people I met on another trip. They highly recommended it.

Edison (our guide) was a real 5-star guide. His knowledge of the mountains was equalled by his knowledge of his own country and the flora and fauna. He was a mine of information, and irrepressible and resourceful. We nicknamed him 'Tigger', such was his energy and enthusiasm. It was all thanks to his great endeavours, and network of contacts, that we snatched the prize of Cotopaxi, when everything appeared to have been thwarted by the weather. I cannot commend him highly enough.

I would recommend this trip to anyone especially someone who wants to go high but not put up with endless trekking and camping in tents. It was a shame about the weather but that is something we cannot control. Too much rain caused too much soft snow on the mountains (avalanche risk) so we just had to make the best of it. Thankfully we did eventually manage to summit Cotopaxi on the second attempt. It was a real highlight. - Thank you.

Eddie (our leader) in particular made the trip what it was - excellent guide because he could do city /all round Ecuador ambassador / flora & fauna type tour leading and then switch to mountain leader when necessary. Really cheerful personality! The local agents as a whole were pretty organised and had the resources to made it all work.

KE were not to know that despite being the dry season there was snowfall on the higher volcanoes every day. This limited our chances of success as it was necessary to get off the peaks before the sun hit the fresh slab on top of the glacier. This is where I really must stress the value of all three local guides - they were exceptional. Eddy in particular was by far the best guide I have ever come across. I have spent a lifetime running outdoor expeditions in midlands schools. His ability to judge the ability of the group and then pace spot on was brilliant. His own enthusiasm never waned and he really enabled the successes that we had. He really must get some form of recognition. All genuinely excellent. The weather, obviously beyond your control made the ascents far more strenuous than usual, eg 18 inches of fresh snow on chimborrazzo and a blizzard on cotopaxi. However this did make any success all the more sweet. The overall planning was excellent which led to no issues with altitude. Also the variety of accomodation helped to break up what was a tough 3 weeks in the conditions.

This was a great trip! Every thing went as planned and details were handled well. Eddie, our guide, was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable and caring and helpful in all aspects and provided much information on the local culture. I've never before had a climbing guide who had summitted Mt. Everest so Eddie was a real treat!. This is my second KE trip and I really look forward to the third in the future. I enjoyed every bit of it even though I felt I needed to leave the trip early. I just kept feeling worse as we went along. But it was not due to any of the arrangements for the trip. The cooks did a great job in working with my gluten intolerance problems and I truly appreciate their efforts.
Thanks for everything.

The whole trip was beyond my expectations. It was safe, exhilarating and great fun. We had great food and good company. We were able to see a good deal of Ecuador in between trekking up mountains. There were some lovely treks around spectacular calderons which added a different pace and beauty to the trip.
Our leader, Edison Ona, was absolutely fantastic. He was kind, caring, tirelessly answered our never-ending questions and was in constant good humour. He ensured that every one of us was okay without fussing, but ensuring safety.
One highlight for me was staying in the community of San Clemente. It was a great insight and a huge privilege to stay in an Ecuadorian home.

The mountain guides were excellent. Despite seeming to climb a peak every day, they managed to make your achievement seem special. They were obviously extremely experienced and I learned a lot.
Diego was a fantastic leader who couldn't do enough for the group. He managed very well to balance the different ability levels within the group and to give people a good experience even if they weren't going to make it to the top.
