Ethiopia to Kenya via the Omo Valley
Visa Information
A passport (with at least 6 months remaining validity) is required. You will also need two visas for this trip.
ETHIOPIA
If you are a passport holder from one of the countries listed below, the easiest way to obtain your visa is on arrival at Addis Ababa. If you prefer to obtain your visa in advance this is possible. In this case you should contact the Embassy of Ethiopia in your own country.
At the airport you will need two recent passport-sized photographs and 20 US dollars. You will also be required to fill out a visa application form which can be obtained at the airport. Note that the form provided for visa applications in advance from an Ethiopian Embassy is different and cannot be used at the airport.
Passport holders of the following countries can obtain a visa for Ethiopia on arrival at Addis Ababa airport:
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea Republic, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States.
If your passport is issued by a country which does not appear on this list you must contact the Ethiopian embassy or mission which deals with your country.
KENYA
You MUST obtain your Kenya visa in advance. Please allow plenty of time but note that the visa is only valid for 3 months from the date of issue. Please check the visa fee and application procedure directly with the Kenya Embassy or High Commission in your own country.

A single entry visa costs £20. Visa applications presented at the counter are ready for collection after 3 working days. Postal applications take about 1 week from the date of receipt. You will need to send the completed application form, your KE booking confirmation with itinerary, 1 passport sized photograph, your passport, and the visa fee by crossed postal order payable to the ‘High Commission of Kenya’. You should send your documents by special delivery and include a pre-paid, self-addressed special delivery envelope (500 grams) for the return of your passport.
US Passport Holders
Please contact your nearest consulate. The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya is located in Washington DC and full consular services including visas are provided in consulates in New York and Los Angeles
A single entry visa costs $25. Visa applications MUST be made online initially. You will then need to print and sign the completed form and send this along with your KE booking confirmation with itinerary, 2 passport sized photographs, your passport, and the visa fee by money order made or cashiers cheque made out to the ‘Embassy of The Republic of Kenya’. For return of passport you should enclose a self-addressed stamped return courier envelope for Fedex, Express Mail, Certified Mail or Priority Mail with delivery confirmation (note: UPS, Metered stamps and Regular mail are not acceptable).
