Himalayan Adventure - Nepal Family Holiday

Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Kathmandu. Complimentary airport transfers are provided for all flights. KE land only package services begin with the evening meal. The leader will brief the group. Overnight Kathmandu.
Day 2: Take the 45 minute flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara and a the short transfer to our hotel. The afternoon is free to look around the town or to sit by the lakeside and admire the view of the Annapurnas. Overnight Pokhara.
Day 3: We start with a sunrise visit to Sarangkot. From here we see the magnificent views of the Annapurnas. We then have the rest of the day free to enjoy Pokhara. There is a range of activities on offer in Pokhara from lakeside walks to more adventurous excursions that can be organised locally. Overnight Pokhara.
Day 4: We transfer by mini-bus to meet our trek crew at the trail head at Kande (1hr drive). We follow the trail gently ascending with steps through forest and farm land to Australian Camp (2060m). This is a short walk of around 2 hrs to introduce us to trekking in the area. Overnight lodge, Australian Camp.
Day 5: Today we trek through temperate forest of oaks and rhododendron with occasional views of the Annapurnas as we trek via Photana to Landruk (1620m). Approx 5 hrs walking. Overnight lodge, Landrung.
Day 6: Leaving Landruk this morning we walk to Ghandruk, 3-4 hrs walking. This afternoon we visit the local Gurung village. Overnight lodge, Ghandruk.
Day 7: An easy and largely downhill walk leads us to Nayapul (approx 4hrs walking), where we rendezvous with transport back to Pokhara and our hotel. Overnight hotel Pokhara.
Day 8: We leave Pokhara and drive to Fishlingtar, on banks of the Trisuli river. After a full safety briefing we take to the river for an afternoon's rafting, before we stop to camp at a convenient beach.
Day 9: Today's river journey will take us further south to reach Simaltar Village for lunch. We leave the river here and drive to our hotel at Chitwan National Park. Overnight Chitwan.
Day 10: A full day's jungle activities at Chitwan. We enjoy an elephant ride and have the opportunity to look for wildlife including the endangered rhino. Overnight Chitwan.
Day 11: Early morning elephant safari or a jungle walk, return to the lodge for breakfast, then transfer to airport for flight to Kathmandu. Check in to group hotel and afternoon guided city tour. Overnight Kathmandu.
Day 12: KE land only services end after breakfast. Complimentary airport transfers from the group hotel are provided.
This holiday involves going to moderately high altitude. During the course of your trip you will reach altitudes in excess of 2500 metres. Most people will have no difficulty with this level of altitude but before coming on the holiday, we recommend you read the advice on trekking at altitude.
