From the charming old Portuguese port of Essaouira on the Atlantic coast, to the Imperial Cities of Fez, Meknes and Rabat, we can offer short visits to all corners of Morocco, as well as city tours of Marrakech which can be added on to the start or end of your main holiday. Since extensions may affect your international flight schedule you should consider booking these at the same time as your main holiday. We can assist with any arrangements such as extra hotel nights, transfers or internal flights that you may require. All extensions can be reserved during the online booking process.

UNESCO Essaouira is only a short 2.5hrs drive from Marrakech and, with a picturesque port, white-washed houses, winding streets, art galleries and laid-back atmosphere, its the perfect place to chill out for a few days and explore. Boasting wide sandy beaches, vibrant cafes, excellent restaurants and great souks, the town has a relaxed Bohemian feel, awash with colour, local life and international kite surfers. The old, white-painted fort and walled medina, together with its colourful harbour and fish market, makes Essaouira one of Moroccos most photogenic towns and a fantastic place to spend a few days.

This Atlantic coastal extension provides a relaxed end to any of our holidays in Morocco. We take care of your private return transfers and accommodation for 3 nights at the comfortable Riad Maison du Sud in pretty Essaouira. This authentic 18th century riad is situated within the ramparts of the medina and just 300 metres from the sea. Redecorated in Moorish style, it has a snug sitting room and sunny roof terrace with views of the Mellah and the Atlantic. There is plenty to see and do in Essaouira, so we leave the days free for you to enjoy at leisure. The extension starts and ends in Marrakech.

Accommodation in Essaouira (3 nights) on a bed and breakfast basis. Transfers to and from Essaouira by private taxi (1 to 3 persons) or private minibus (3 or more persons). The final transfer to Marrakech Airport is also included.

This morning you'll be picked up from your hotel for the picturesque 2.5hrs drive to Essaouira. On arrival, you'll check into the comfortable Riad Maison du Sud in the heart of the Medina. This pretty riad has two central courtyards, both charming examples of Moorish design and, are the perfect place to relax before setting off to explore.
A great place to explore is the Skala du Port, down by the harbour, offering the classic walled medina view. Complete with swirling seagulls and local fishing boats, this area is the best place to see local boat builders and the famous fish auction outside the port gates. Essaouira's UNESCO medina is a haven of winding streets, colourful shops, whitewashed houses and decorated doors.
The Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah Museum has been lovingly restored and is housed in an old riad. It has a small but interesting collection of jewellery, costumes, amazing musical instruments and carpets of the region. From Essaouira beach, the "Purple Isles" of antiquity, two uninhabited islands are a sanctuary for Eleonora's falcons, which with a pair of binoculars, can be seen soaring above.
After breakfast, you'll be picked up for your return drive back to Marrakech. If you are flying out that day, you'll be transported to the airport, ensuring a relaxed end to your time in Morocco. Alternatively, you may wish to fly direct from Essaouira to start your onward journey and your airport transfer would be included.

Close to Moroccos south-eastern border you will find the start of the worlds largest desert - the legendary Sahara. A place that conjures up images of stately camel trains crossing endless miles of golden sand dunes and gigantic clear skies filled with millions of bright stars. Visit the Kasbahs of the world heritage site at Ait Ben Haddou and drive through the Oases of the Draa Valley as you explore the magnificent desert landscape. With Bedouin guides, learn about the traditional nomad life in our camp at Erg Chegaga and climb the dunes to watch the changing colours of the sands at sunrise.
Edge of the Sahara
For a real taste of the Sahara, this 4-day extension is hard to beat. Journeying across the Atlas Mountains we will arrive in the oasis town of Agdz and overnight in a traditional Moroccan house. The next morning we continue our journey to the desert, heading for our comfortable Bedouin camp at Erg Chegaga by early afternoon. We take in a colourful desert sunset before settling round the camp fire for dinner. The following morning we watch the sun rise and spend the morning exploring the desert's magical landscapes by 4WD vehicles. After an overnight at Ouarzazate, we make our way back to Marrakech via the UNESCO protected Kasbahs of Ait Ben Haddou. Services end on arrival into Marrakech. Should you wish to return directly to the airport for your flight, please let us know in advance.

1 night in a traditional guesthouse in the oasis town of Agdz, 1 night in a desert Bedouin camp, 1 night in maison/riad accommodation in Ouarzazate. All breakfasts and all dinners. Transfers to and from Marrakech.

After breakfast, we cross the High Atlas via the spectacular Tizi N Tichka Pass and continue onto Ouarzazate - The Door of the Desert. This stunning area is a popular film location: Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator and the extremely popular Game of Thrones. We pass through the Palm Kasbah at the foot of Djebel Kissane before arriving in the oasis town of Agdz, where we overnight (BD).
Leaving the tarmac behind, we head for the desert in our private 4x4 vehicle and head towards Tammegroute, the ancient centre of learning and religion to view ancient manuscripts. Arriving into the desert we make our way across to the Dunes of Chegaga for a spectacular sunset before returning back to our charming fixed desert camp complete with Eco hot showers! (BD).
An early start to watch a spectacular desert sunrise, before we head across the desert plateaus of Oued Namm and Oued Laatache. As we make our make out of the desert, we pass the magnificent Dune of Ezarh before joining a desert track to Ouarzazate. Overnight in a traditional maison/riad. (BD).
After breakfast we head to the wonderfully preserved UNESCO Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is a fabulous example of Southern Moroccan architecture. After exploring we make our way back to Marrakech, passing by the Kasbah of Telouet located on an ancient caravan route. Once the stronghold of the Lords of the High Atlas and Pasha of Marrakech, Kasbah Telouet is beautiful. (B).
