Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in San Francisco. KE Land Only package services begin with the overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: After breakfast in the hotel we meet with our tour leader who will brief us on the week ahead. We then explore the city on foot and by cable car including a walk through Chinatown. The afternoon is free and optional activities include a ferry ride to Sausalito, or a bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: After a free morning to further explore the city, we head for the mountains, driving to Yosemite where we enjoy our first camping night close to the National Park.

Day 4: We spend a day exploring Yosemite National Park. We first visit Glacier Point for one of the most spectacular views in the USA. We can then hike one of the many trails in the park. Other options include renting a bike, rafting and swimming. Overnight at our camp.

Day 5: Today we drive across the impressive Tioga Pass. En route we visit the Giant Sequoia, the biggest trees on the planet and take a short walk through the giant forest. We set up our next camp at Mono Lake and in the afternoon we visit one the world's best preserved Ghost Towns in Bodie State Park.

Day 6: We visit Mono Lake, one of the oldest in the world before leaving the mountains behind and head south into the desert. Driving through Death Valley, we visit Zabriskie Point, Badwater and Devil's Golf-course before checking into our hotel where we can escape the desert heat with a dip in the pool.

Day 7: We make an early start to catch the cool of the morning as we continue through the desert to reach Zion National Park. Here we will have a short hike in the impressive 800 metre high canyon, or there is an option to do some 'tubing' on the Virgin River. In the late afternoon we check into an Adventure Ranch where we will stay in a cowboy wagon.

Day 8: The Adventure Ranch offers a wide range of optional activities including rock climbing, horse back riding, canyoneering and ATV rides. Today is a free day to enjoy these activities or you can accompany the tour leader on a hike in the National Park. Overnight at the adventure Ranch.

Day 9: Today we head out to explore Bryce Canyon NP, considered one of the most photogenic parks in the USA. We have most of the day to hike through the weird and wonderful rock formations and we return to the ranch for dinner and our last night in the cowboy wagons.

Day 10: After packing our camp, a short drive takes us to Lake Powell. Here, the Colorado River was dammed creating an astounding shoreline of 3000 km. We make our next camp close to the lake shore and after lunch the afternoon is free for optional activities. It is possible to rent kayaks or power boats or you can take a lake cruise or simply enjoy a swim.

Day 11: We have a day trip to the sandstone 'slot' canyon known as Antelope Canyon. We continue to monument Valley where we have the option to take a tour by jeep in the company of Navajos guides. We return to the Lake Powell campground for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: A free morning. There is an option to take a raft trip on the Colorado River. In the afternoon we make a short drive to Grand canyon National Park where we set up our next camp in the small village of Tusayan.

Day 13: We have a free day at the Grand Canyon National Park. You can choose to hike into the canyon or to hire bikes and ride along the rim for amazing views. Overnight at the campground.

Day 14: Its well worth getting up early for a sunrise walk. Alternatively it is possible to book a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon for a memory of a lifetime. In the late morning we drive on Route 66 (4.5 hours) via the magnificent Hoover Dam to reach the bright lights of Las Vegas. Here we check into our comfortable hotel.
