The Dance of the Lemur, Family Holiday Madagascar
- See lemurs and Indri-Indri in the wild
- Look for pirate treasure on Ile Sainte Marie
- Boat trip along the Canal des Pangalanes
- Beach fun on the Indian Ocean
- Search for chameleons, geckos and butterflies
This amazing Madagascan family adventure shows us the best of the island's wildlife, whilst also highlighting its diverse landscape and rich culture. We start out by searching for the biggest (and noisiest) of the lemurs, the Indri indri and then visit a chameleon farm, where we can watch these bizarre creatures actually change colour in front our eyes. Continuing our exploration by boat into the Canal des Pangalanes, we stay at a remote forest lodge and seek out lemurs and other wildlife, as well as visiting isolated villages. Flying out to the paradise island of Ile Sainte Marie, we then have a couple of days to relax, enjoy the beach, canoe across the lagoon and search for pirate treasure. This is the best of Madagascar!
Is this holiday for you?
This trip is designed to experience the wildlife and culture of this fascinating, developing country. There are many boat trips and swimming opportunities and it is advised that children should be able to swim although buoyancy aids will be provided. There is not a significant amount of walking on any particular day, although walks of around 1 hour should be expected to seek out the wildlife. We overnight in simple but clean and comfortable hotels, lodges and bungalows. All meals are included, so there are no additional costs during the holiday and you don't have to worry about carry large amounts of spending money. A sense of adventure by all the family is required (intrigue and an interest in wildlife helps as well!) and it is suitable for families with children aged 6 and up. The Malagasy people are exceptionally friendly and will welcome family groups with open arms and their generous warm spirit.
