This 1-week family trip to Morocco excitingly blends together the Atlas Mountains and the Atlantic Coast. We travel from Marrakech to spend 2 nights beneath Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. Here, we spend time with the local people, learn how to bake bread Berber-style and take a walk in the hills with mule support and a tasty picnic. Heading for the pretty seaside town of Essaouira, we have time to enjoy the hotel pool, before taking a surf lesson and a walk on the Atlantic beach with camels. Back in Marrakech, our holiday ends with a lesson in Islamic calligraphy and a chance to absorb the atmosphere of the Djema el-Fna, with its snake charmers, jugglers and story tellers.

With an easy day walk in the Atlas mountains supported by mules, and another easy walk along the beach at Essaouira supported by camels this is not a difficult holiday physically for the children. We enjoy cooking and calligraphy lessons as well as having time to relax in both Marrakech and Essaouira. For the 2hr surf lesson in Essaouira children need to be 8yrs or above and be competent swimmers being able to swim 25m with ease. Our hotels in both Marrakech and Essaouira have swimming pools.
