This multi-activity family adventure holiday in Montenegro provides something for all family members. Inland of a picturesque ribbon of rugged coastline, Montenegro has beautiful limestone mountains with pretty alpine lakes and unspoilt villages. After arriving into the Croatian town of Dubrovnik this excellent family holiday begins in the Durmitor National Park in northern Montenegro where we stay in rustic A-frame chalets designed and laid-out as a traditional shepherds camp. We meet the local shepherds with their flocks and enjoy some easy walks and swimming in the beautiful Black Lake. We cook a traditional dish for lunch and have the option for white-water rafting on the Tara River. The second half of this family holiday is spent on the idyllic Adriatic coast where we explore ancient forts and enjoy the beach swimming and kayaking in the spectacular Bay of Kotor. While staying on the coast there are options to take a sailing lesson or further sea kayaking. We also sneak in a quick visit to an olive farm as a perfect end to a delightful activity orientated family holiday in lesser travelled Montenegro.
