Renowned as India's most colourful state, Rajasthan is a fairy-tale land, perfect for family adventures. On this superb new family adventure holiday, we begin with a train journey from Delhi to Agra, the world-famous site of the stunning Taj Mahal, where we enjoy an atmospheric afternoon visit to this masterpiece of Indian architecture. We then have a day at the Chambal Sanctuary where a river cruise gives us the chance to spot wildlife including dolphins and an extremely rare crocodile! Moving on by express train to Ranthambore, we have 2 nights at a jungle resort lodge and a day of safari action in one of the few places in the world where it is actually possible to meet a wild tiger. Making sure to visit some of the park's scenic archaeological ruins and temples, we also visit the Ranthambore School of Art - renowned for its paintings of tigers. Then, after a pleasant drive through rural India, we arrive at the Rajasthan capital, the 'Pink City' of Jaipur. A full day of sightseeing includes an elephant ride to the Amber Fort, a visit to the fabulous Palace of the Winds and the City Palace. Our last stop is at the dazzling white city of Pushkar, with its many temples. Here, a camel ride provides a great way to sign off on this unforgettable family adventure holiday.

This is an epic sightseeing tour of some of the greatest attractions of northern India. Travelling mostly by train makes our journey easier and more interesting. Any road transfers are short and in air-conditioned private vehicles. We use a good standard of accommodation, with the majority of hotels outside Delhi having swimming pools. The trip involves no long day-hikes and young children should cope well with the itinerary and enjoy the tiger viewing and the elephant and camel rides.
