Day 1: Rendezvous at Johannesburg Airport at breakfast time. KE Land Only package services begin with the long drive to Mpumalanga and the small town of Graskop. We will stop to see the guns on Longtom Pass and for a picnic lunch at Lone Creek Falls, a great place for a swim. Overnight at Mogodi Lodge on the edge of the escarpment.
Day 2: Sightseeing on the scenic 'Panorama Route', we will check out God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes and the Blyde River viewpoints. We then travel on to the Edeni Game Reserve and, after settling in at our camp accommodation, have time for a game drive. Dinner around the camp fire.
Day 3: After breakfast we visit the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre for a guided tour. The animals at the centre include lion, leopard, serval, lynx, honey badger, eagles, vultures and any baby animals that they may have at the time of our visit. After lunch we drive into the Kruger National Park and game drive to our camp.
Day 4: We will have morning and late afternoon game drives in the Kruger National Park. During the heat of the day, we have free time at the camp, with the opportunity to relax at the campsite pool.
Day 5: A final morning game drive in Kruger, before crossing into Swaziland. We drive to the King of Swaziland's traditional hunting reserve, now the Hlane Game Reserve. In the afternoon, we set up camp and sit around a waterhole at sunset, looking out for rhino which come down to drink.
Day 6: There is the option of an early morning guided game walk (or drive) through the reserve, with a good chance to see rhino and many other indigenous game species. After a late brunch, we drive to the Mantenga Nature Reserve where we can visit a typical Swazi village. We have dinner in the restaurant here and overnight in traditional huts.
Day 7: After an early start we drive through the southern region of Swaziland, before re-entering South Africa at the Lavumisa border. From here, we drive to St Lucia via the Pongolapoort Dam, arriving at Sugar Loaf Campsite in the afternoon.
Day 8: In the morning we enjoy a boat tour on the St Lucia estuary and in the afternoon we visit the crocodile farm, followed by a short walk through the coastal sand dune forest. A second night at Sugar Loaf Campsite.
Day 9: After breakfast at camp, we drive to Shaka's Kraal, where there is the option of a guided tour through this Zulu village, before continuing our journey to the Natal north coast. Here, we will be based for 2 nights in holiday apartments.
Day 10: A free day at the beach. The tour leader will also be happy to provide transport for those wanting to visit the U'Shaka Marine World (and water park) at nearby Durban - entrance for this to be paid directly. We spend a second night at the holiday apartments.
Day 11: We depart the apartments after breakfast and head inland, via Durban, Pietermaritzberg and Bergville, before reaching the Berghouse cottages in the northern Drakensberg. Arriving in the early afternoon, there's time to stretch our legs with a short walk within this scenic property.
Day 12: A day for walking in the Royal Natal National Park, with a number of excellent walks to choose from, such as into the Tugela Gorge. There are opportunities for swimming and to see bushman paintings.
Day 13: After a leisurely breakfast and the chance of a short final stroll, we drive back to Johannesburg Airport in time for a late afternoon check in. KE Land Only package services end on arrival at the airport.
