Toubkal Ascent - Morocco Family Adventure

Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Marrakech. Complimentary airport transfers are provided for clients arriving on this day. KE Land Only package services begin with the overnight in the hotel.
Day 2: We may have a chance to have a look around the Djemaa-el-Fna and souks this morning before we drive to Imlil and make the short walk to the start point of our trek at Ait Souka (c 2000m). Overnight at gite.
Day 3: Acclimatisation day around the Imlil Valley. One option is to trek to l'Assif N'Imenane through the typical Berber villages to the low pass of Tizi n'Tamatert. Approx 5hrs walking. Return to Ait Souka Gite.
Day 4: Ascend up the valley to the foot of Toubkal, where we camp in the summer meadows (3207m). Approx 6-7hrs walking. We camp here for the next 2 nights.
Day 5: Today we make the steep ascent to the summit of Mount Toubkal (4167m). After time to enjoy the panoramic views we return to our campsite. If young children do not wish to climb Toubkal then a shorter day walk is arranged. Approx 6-7hrs walking.
Day 6: We leave our campsite and return down the Aroumd Valley, via Sid Chamharouch to our gite in Ait Souka. Approx 4-5hrs walking. Overnight at gite.
Day 7: Short walk to Imlil to meet our transport back to Marrakech and the group hotel. Time for sightseeing and watching the remarkable central square of the Djemaa-el-Fna come to life in the evening.
Day 8: KE Land Only package services end after breakfast. Complimentary airport transfers are provided for clients departing on this day.
This holiday involves going to high altitude. During the course of your trip you will reach altitudes in excess of 3500 metres. This is not something that you should worry about; the human body is quite capable of adapting to a very wide range of altitudes, but it is important that we follow some simple rules in order to acclimatise successfully.
