On the forested lower slopes of Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, this great family safari begins by visiting a village of the agriculturalist Chagga people - a superb introduction to the culture of East Africa. Transferring to the Rift Valley, our first game viewing is in the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park where we have our first chance to spot lion and elephant. Next, it's on to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world's wildlife hotspots, where we have a morning's game drive amongst teeming antelope, zebra and wildebeest - and their predators, lion, cheetah and hyena. Moving on to the plains of the Serengeti we have 3 nights at a remote safari-style camp. In this game-rich corner of Africa, we have the best possible chance of spotting the 'big 5' of elephant, rhino, leopard, buffalo and lion. The for an insight into the origins of mankind, we will visit Olduvai Gorge en route to our final wildlife encounters along the baobab-lined waterways of the excellent Tarengire National Park. A family holiday that no-one will forget!

This is a safari holiday, which necessitates spending some quite long periods of time in vehicles travelling and viewing game. Some of the roads will be rough, and bear in mind that after rain, conditions can become more difficult! There are 4 nights camping in national park campsites, where tents will be erected and and a full camping service provided, but please bear in mind that on these nights facilities will be basic. However, the feeling of being in the wild amongst the animals more than makes up for this! .
