After an introductory hike on the forested lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, this brilliant family safari continues with a visit to a village of the agriculturalist Chagga people - a super cultural experience. Then, after transferring to the lush and beautiful Lake Manyara National Park in the Rift Valley, we have an evening's game drive, with a chance to spot our first lions and elephants. Next, it's on to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world's wildlife hot spots, where we have a morning's game drive amongst teeming antelope, zebra and wildebeest - and their predators, lion, cheetah and hyena. Moving on to the Serengeti, we can enjoy the real East Africa plains experience with 3 nights at a remote safari-style camp. In this game-rich corner of Africa, we have the best possible chance of spotting the 'big 5' of elephant, rhino, leopard, buffalo and lion. Then, for a fascinating anthropological perspective, we will stop off at the museum in the Olduvai Gorge, en route to our final wildlife encounters along the baobab-lined waterways of the excellent Tarangire National Park. This is a family holiday that none of the family will ever forget.

This family adventure holiday has no significant elements of hiking. It is a safari trip, which necessarily includes some quite long periods travelling and game viewing in safari vehicles. Some of the roads that we will be driving along are very rough and after rain these can become even more difficult. This trip is suitable for children aged 8 and up.
