Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: We rendezvous at the group hotel in Puerto de Mogan located on the south west coast. Transfers will be provided from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport on this day and the driving time is approximately 1 hour. KE Land Only package services begin with a briefing from the guide followed by dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: After a short transfer today's walk begins at La Cercada. We will hike through a rocky ravine and farmland to the village of Mogan. We then climb on a mountain path to Casa de Veneguera, a wild uninhabited region for sensational views over the island. We continue climbing to the road at Degollada de Veneguera from where we transfer back to our hotel. 15km with 900 metres of ascent.
Day 3: After breakfast we transfer back to Degollada de Veneguera and continue the trek. Climbing to El Laurelille (945m), we are rewarded with wonderful views to the centre of the island. We now ascend through pine forest to 1150 metres before returning to Degollada de la Aldea along the cliffs of Inagua. Transfer back to our hotel in Puerto de Mogan. 12km with 800 metres of ascent.
Day 4: Leaving Puerto de Mogan we drive inland for 50 minutes to the start of the Roque Nublohike. The views from the 'Roque' are simply superb and afterwards we descend to the charming village of La Culata. Our walk continues on a a classic 'camino real' with more great views before descending to the mountain town of Tejeda where we check into a hotel. 12km with 400 metres of ascent.
Day 5: We start the day with a highly scenic drive (30 minutes) to the pretty mountain village of St Bartholome. From here we walk ancient cobbled ways enjoying fantastic views over the island and surrounding sea. to the summit of Pico de las Nieves (1951m), the highest point on Gran Canaria. We return to our hotel in Tejeda. 12km with 1100 metres of ascent.
Day 6: Our goal for today is Tamadaba (1444m), the highest peak in the north-west of the island, where the sheer cliffs drop to the Atlantic coast. Along the way we walk through pine forest, visit the 'Caves of the Goat-herders' and have sensational views across to Tenerife and Pico Teide. After the walk we drive via Artenara Village back to our hotel in Tejeda. 17km with 450 metres of ascent.
Day 7: We drive out of the mountains towrds Las Palmas. En route we stop at Caldera de Bandama for a stunning walk around the crater's edge. After the walk we drive to Las Palmas in time for lunch and afterwards we can look around the colourful capital and the ancient quarter of Vegueta or take a dip at Playa de las Canteras. We overnight in a hotel in Las Palmas. 6km with 300 metres of ascent.
Day 8: KE Land Only package services end after breakfast. Transfers to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport are provided.
