Highlights of Northern Vietnam

A great holiday (our third with KE) and everything worked to the standard we have come to expect. A better trip equipment list would have saved us and the porters a lot of unneccesary portage. The brochure indicatecd that it would be cold at times but it was hot and humid throughout so we had more gear than needed.
Than was a very good ,leader who cared fore all members of the group. All local arrangements worked very well, the accommodation was good and as expected.

Thanh is an excellent trip leader. He engaged with every individual member of the group and was intuitive of the needs and wishes of people. His humour and approach helped to make this a fabulous holiday.

I didn't know what to expect of this trip, it gave me no surprised though. I could not fault the trip, only the weather.
I most enjoyed the feeling that, amongst the hill tribes we were not on a 'tourist conveyor belt'and seeing life there as it really is, a rarity in this day and age. The locals were as curious about us as we were about them. Also not seeing stickers from other travel companies plastered over doors and other smooth surfaces.
The itinerary appealed to me more than the other companies (varied and off the usual tourist track). I have intenede travelling with KE for years but not actually got around to it, until now. I am now already booked on another trek.

Very helpful input from your office staff early on when we were trying to decide on our holiday. Very supportive throughout.
All the support crew wwere excellent. the cook in the mountains was superb. Loved the homestays. Overnight train great fun. Time in the mountains very special.
Thanh (the guide) was key to our enjoyment, we cannot praise him highly enough, organised, reliable and great company.
