Helambu to Langtang

Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Kathmandu. Complimentary airport transfers are provided. KE Land Only package services begin with the evening meal. Overnight at the group hotel.
Day 2: We make a short transfer to Sundarijal at the foot of the Sheopari Ridge and begin our trek with a steady climb to Chisapani (2095m) where we have a fantastic panorama of the distant Himalayan chain. We check into our lodge at Chisa pani.
Day 3: Trek through rhododendron forest on quiet trails to Pathi Bhanjyang, before ascending another ridge to Gal Bhanjyang and our next lodge.
Day 4: We continue out trek through Helambu, a region of tree-covered ridges and river valleys. we climb steeply up to the Thodang Danda and then the Panghu Danda. Our next lodge is at Mangengoth (3250m).
Day 5: A shorter day today as we enjoy some classic ridge walking along the Panghu Danda with extensive views. Reaching the lodges of Tharepati (3490m) we can check in and relax with a drink to enjoy our situation.
Day 6: We can see the our pass, the Laurebina La ahead as we trek through the ever thinning forests of juniper and rhododendron passing the settlement of Gopte before reaching our lodge for the night at Surche.
Day 7: A wonderful day of trekking, crossing the Laurebina La (4600m) and dropping down via the Gosainkund lakes to Laurebina (3900m).
Day 8: We trek mostly downhill today, but with a final climb to the village of Syabru, perched on a ridge high above the entrance to the Langtang Valley. We check into one of the several lodges in this long thin village which is spread out along the ridge.
Day 9: Dropping into the Langtang Valley, we then begin a gradual climb beside the river. We pass through forests of bamboo, rhododendron, pine and oak to the settlement known as Lama Hotel where we check into a lodge.
Day 10: Beyond Lama Hotel as we climb up the valley, the vegetation becomes more sparse and the high peaks tower above. We continue through more open country with spectacular mountain views to reach our lodge in Langtang Village (3430m), the largest settlement we have seen on the trek.
Day 11: Continuing our ascent of the Langtang Khola we reach Kanjin Gompa, the highest settlement of the valley at 3870 metres. We check into a lodge surrounded by snowy Himalayan peaks.
Day 12: A full day for exploration. Options include the ascent of Tsergo Ri (4984m) for spectacular views of the surrounding Himalaya including Shishapangma (8,013m). We spend a second night in the lodge at Kanjin Gompa.
Day 13: A short walk from our camp takes us to the STOL airstrip of Langtang. We board our helicopter here for the spectacular flight through the mountains back to Kathmandu. Arriving in Kathmandu we transfer to our hotel and the rest of the day is free for relaxing or sightseeing. Hotel.
Day 14: We have a full day of sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley. This evening we will have a celebration dinner. Our final night in Nepal. Hotel.
Day 15: KE Land Only package services end after breakfast. Complimentary airport transfers are provided.
This holiday involves going to very high altitude. During the course of your trip you will be spending at least one night above 4000 metres and/or trekking to 5000 metres or above. This is not something that you should worry about; the human body is quite capable of adapting to a very wide range of altitudes, but it is important that we follow some simple rules in order to acclimatise successfully.
