High Tatras Trekking - The Carpathian Mountains
Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Rendezvous at the group's accommodation in Zakopane. A group transfer is provided from Krakow Airport in the late morning. KE Land Only package services begin with the overnight in Zakopane.
Day 2: Crossing into Slovakia, we have a splendid first day of hiking in the White Tatras, passing the Great White Lake en route to our overnight stop at the Zelene Pleso Hut.
Day 3: Today we cross a ridge at the Svistovkou Pass and climb to the small summit of Velka Svistovka. If we reach the Chata Zamokovsjeno Hut in time, there is an option to make the return trek up to the 'Cold Lakes' valley.
Day 4: Another long day, as we trek to the heart of the range and cross 2 passes en route to the impressive, lakeside Popradskie Pleso Hut (1500m / 4900ft).
Day 5: Today's ascent of Rysy (2499m / 8199ft) involves sections of scree and some easy scrambling with chain hand rails. We descend to a hut at the large lake of Morske Oko. Overnight at the Roztoka Hut.
Day 6: Our final full day of hiking takes us through Poland's lovely Five Lakes Valley to an overnight halt at the Hut in the Valley of the Five Polish Lakes.
Day 7: After breakfast, we have a 2-hour hike to the roadhead. Here, we meet our transport and drive to Krakow. Afternoon sightseeing in Krakow and overnight at a hotel.
Day 8: After breakfast, there is a group transfer to Krakow Airport, where KE Land Only package services end.
