High Tatras Trekking - The Carpathian Mountains

Day 1: Rendezvous at Krakow Airport. KE Land Only package services begin with an escorted transfer on public transport to our overnight accommodation in a quiet village in the Polish High Tatra close to the mountain resort of Zakopane.
Day 2: After a short transfer we begin our acclimatisation walk through the beautiful Strazyska valley to a waterfall and from here we ascend Sarnia Skala (1377m) for stunning views over the Tatras and Zakopane. Descending to Zakopane we have some time to look around this vibrant town before a transfer and 1 hour walk to our overnight accommodation at the Roztoka hut.
Day 3: From the Roztoka hut we climb through pine woods and past an impressive waterfall to reach the 'Valley of the Five Polish Lakes' where there is a hut serving refreshments. There is an option to climb Kozi Wierch (2291m), the highest peak entirely within Poland, before returning to the Roztoka hut for a second night.
Day 4: An early start for a gradual ascent to Morskie Oko lake and then a steeper climb of Rysy's NW ridge. There are some scrambling sections, well protected with chains and we aim to reach the summit of Poland's highest peak by lunchtime. Descending the Slovakian side via the Rysmi Hut, we continue to our accommodation on Popadskie Lake. 9 hours. +1500m / -1000m.
Day 5: Walking down to the main Poprad Valley we take a highly scenic train ride to Stary Smokovec and from there, a funicular up to Hrebienok, a short walk away from the Bilikova Mountain Hotel. From here we ascend the Starolesna valley into the heart of the High Tatra. After refreshment at the Zbojnicka hut we return to the Bilikova. 6 - 7 hours walking. +750m / - 1000m.
Day 6: Following a cascading stream through a wooded valley we reach the pretty Zamkovskeho hut and then continue to the Skalnate Lake. We now climb to the Svistovkou Pass (2023m) where we have our first views of the Bielskie (White) Tatra, and descend to the Pri Zelenom (Green Lake) hut. Leaving our bags here we make a return hike up into the Jagniecy Mountains, the abode of wild mountain goats.
Day 7: After breakfast, we hike to Velke Biele Pleso, the ‘Great White Lake’ and from here climb across two passes to reach the stunning Javorova Valley which leads us northwards and down out of the mountains to the town of Tatranska Javorina. We meet our transport here and drive back to Krakow, where we check into our hotel before going out for a celebratory dinner. 6 - 7 hours walking.
Day 8: After breakfast, there is a group transfer to Krakow Airport, where KE Land Only package services end.
