Iceland Three Peaks Challenge
By: Jane Marriott, Northampton UK
The country was fantastic and other members of the group great fun. Having the right guide is essential and on this trip we certainly had the right person. Agust was one of the best guides I have had, so knowledgeable, experienced and great fun. The trip was wonderful and better than what I'd expected.

I was happy with your service as queries were answered helpfully and promptly.
Hotel in Reykjavik was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was good, the staff were helpful and it was
convenient for the centre.
The food on the trail was one of the unexpected highlights of the trip. Plentiful, varied, well prepared. Something to look forward to everyday.
The itinerary was
ambitious, but we did it all. Some days were 'full on' but there were always choices if you wanted to take it easy, which we rarely did.
The leader Kristjan, helped the group to gel quickly with his humour and enthusiasm. He quickly got the 'measure' of the group and was sensitive to the various abilities and ambitions of the group members. Kristjan and the driver were a good team. Kristjan made some very good decisions based on weather and local information available. The itinerary was flexible to give the group a good chance of climbing Iceland's highest peak. He chose the day and timing of our ascent perfectly. Kristjan was knowledgeable so we learnt lots about Iceland and had lots of interesting discussions. Overall a brilliant leader who made a major contribution to our enjoyment of the trip.

Our guide was top
notch! A very personable guide, we very quickly felt relaxed and confident with
Kristjan. The weather conditions and forecast for our week were not brilliant
and he was having to make some real judgement calls all the time in order to deliver
the programme and make it safe for all members of the party. This he did. He
took us down short of the summit on the first hill because of high winds, a
judgement we all agreed with. On the two big mountains (Hekla and
Hvanndalshnukur)he got us to the top in clear weather windows amongst what were
otherwise cloudy and often wet days.
A busy and interesting
programme was provided along with more than ample and interesting food. This
continued right through to our final evening in Reykjavik when we experienced a
good local night out. Most important of all perhaps was Kristjan's personality
and humour which really made this an excellent group to be with all week and
more than the sum of its programme parts.
I feel knackered and feel like I've been stretched in terms of my own
abilities and ambitions, perfect! Both I and my wife have had a really
memorable time. I would like to reiterrate my appreciation of our guide and our
driver.
