Overall an excellent trip. We've used KE before and the trip itinerary was better than other offerings because of the small size of group and the fact that it was a 5 day trek to Machu Picchu with plenty of time to see the city as well as plenty of time enroute to see other Incan ruins. We also got the best spots on the campsites due to our smaller group size. Having seen the commercial size of other groups we were very glad we chose KE. Exactly as expected if not better. We were glad that the way this trip was set up meant that we were not travelling with the main crowds on the Inca Trail and the campsites were less crowded and more spectacular as a result. It was a good idea to have a full day at Machu Picchu at the end of the trip rather than rush to catch the sunrise as most people do on their last day. One reason we chose this trip over other offerings from other companies. Many times we found ourselves the only people on the trail for hours which was a real plus. Overall the way the trip is set up is excellent. Fisher Chavez our lead guide was very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs and questions.

KE staff were excellent and gave additional advise as needed. 100% satisfaction.
All Hotels used were excellent and friedly staff on hand to answer all questions. Food quality was of a very high standard and much more than I expected. I cannot speak more highly of our support crew giude and Cook. the cleanliness and hygene was top quility and all I can say is I have had worse food in some top class restaurants.
Our tour guide was of the highest standard. He was a great leader and knew his stuff well and was very attentive to our needs. He was also very knowwledgeable about his history and knowledge of the Inca.

We found KE through a google search. We chose it as it had a comprehensive itinerary, looked reliable and when we called to enquire about the trip the staff were knowledgeable and helpful.
Harry our trip leader was very good at ensuring everyone was well and coping with the altitude. He was very knowledgable about the inca trail and local culture and environment. He was very patient and supported our whole group. He made the trip even more enjoyable by being friendly and approachable.

This is my second trip with KE and I knew I would be in good hands on the trek. I picked KE because of how happy I was with the experience I had on the previous trek. The holiday was perfect for me, with just the right amount of days trekking and camping. I particularly liked the guided trip to the Sacred Valley before the trek commenced. It was spectacular and we had a very good guide.
The guiding on the trip was excellent. This is my second trip with KE but I have used other companies in the past. I can honestly say that from the moment I was met at the airport to departure, the service I received was the tops. Usually I get stressed out while travelling but once I saw the KE sign held up for me at Cusco Airport arrival hall I knew my worries were over and a great trek had begun. I am really looking forward to my next trip with KE. With all the choices, I'm having trouble deciding where to go.
Harry is probably the best trip leader I have seen to date. He was very friendly, informative and on the ball. We couldn't go wrong with Harry leading. He was an expert on all things related to the trek. You can not beat experience and Harry had it all. An all round good guy.
I found the kit list to be spot on. I packed a bit extra but really it was not needed. The first two nights were warm enough and although I brought a down jacket I did not use it and ended up just layering up instead. The kit bag supplied by the local operator was smaller than the KE bag so I ended up packing stuff into my day bag and, as a result, had a bit more weight.
I found the other inca ruins we visited just as exciting as Machu Picchu so it did not bother me to have arrived at the Sungate in the Rain. The best thing about the trip is that we met hardly any other trekkers on the trail. We had it all to ourselves until we reached the Sun Gate.

My trip leader was absolutely brilliant. Great enthusiasm, knowledge & passion about the Inca trail & Machu Picchu. Plus he played the flute!
This was a great holiday with no illnesses and I didn't even have to wear any rain gear! It was also the Corpus Christii carnival on our arrival date into Cusco - big bonus & helped us stay awake. I was also surprised by how much I enjoyed learning about the Inca history and architecture of ruins etc.
I chose KE based on my previous experience - EBC trip in October 2010 which went wrong & KE staff on ground recovered it superbly! So had total confidence in your abilities!!

All very good, an excellent itinerary for the trek with much better camp site locations and quieter route than the standard one. An excellent crew and local arrangements.
Most enjoyed - The first view Machu Picchu through Sun Gate.

No problems at all, information all good. Professional.
Trip leader was really fantasitc, friendly and informative quickly understood the needs of the group and taliored accordingly.
Exceeded my expectations by a considerable margin. One of the guys I worked with took the trip with KE some years back and passed KE details with a high recomendation - he was right.
