Jebel Sahro Winter Sunshine Trek
The following checklist should help you with your packing. As a general rule, you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum.
You must bring the following items:
Hiking boots
Lightweight thermal or fleece glovesSocksWaterproof jacket

Selection of dry bags (to keep trek bag contents dry)
Headtorch / headlamp with spare batteries
Small padlock (to lock your KE kit bag)
Basic First Aid Kit including: Antiseptic cream, throat lozenges, diarrhoea treatment (Imodium), painkillers, plasters and blister treatment, Insect repellent, and re-hydration salts (Dioralite)
The following items are optional:
Trekking poles
Sleeping bag liner Thermarest (note that foam mattresses are provided)
Duvet (down) jacket (especially March and December)
Gaiters (useful when walking through thorny sections)Trainers / sneakers or sandals for camp
Spare laces

Flavouring for drinking water eg. Vit C tablets/powdered juice (water is purified by iodine on trek, and you might wish to hide the taste)

**As this is an Islamic country, modest dress is preferable in the towns and cities. Shoulders should be kept covered, and full-length trousers/skirts are recommended. Knee-length shorts are OK once on trek.
