Walk distance approx: 5-6hrs, 10km, 350m ascent & 1300m descent.
Day 5: A free day to enjoy the pretty town of Lake Bled or local area. There are plenty of possibilities for local walks including the spectacular Vintgar Gorge located a short walk from Bled. Alternatively, well worth a visit is the laid-back Slovenian capital city of Ljubljana, with its many pavement cafes, pretty town squares, winding river and beautiful Triple Bridge, designed by Joze Plecnik.
Day 6: Starting at the small village of Gozd Martuljek, below the beautiful Mt Spik, we follow forest trails to a 'hidden valley' in the beautiful Martuljak Mountains to a series of cascading waterfalls. They'll be an option to take lunch at the welcoming Lipovceva Hut in it's pretty setting before returning to Gozd Martuljek and Bled. Walk distance approx: 5-6hrs, 10.5km, 1130m ascent & 1120m descent.
Day 7: Today we see a completely different side of this region as we transfer up and onto the high Pokljuka Plateau, an area wonderfully rich in flora and fauna, and where the traditional way of life is still practiced by a few shepherds and cow herders who live here. There are plenty of walking options available here and after enjoying the day we return to Lake Bled. Walk distance approx 5hrs.
Day 8: KE Land Only package ends after breakfast with an early afternoon single group transfer from Bled to Ljubljana Airport.
