Jordan Trekking Holiday - Wadi Rum and Petra
Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Madaba. A single timed group transfer from Amman Airport is provided in the evening. KE Land Only package services begin with the overnight at the group hotel.
Day 2: Drive south to Wadi Rum. After lunch, we trek from Lawrence's Well in Wadi Shelaala, on a ledge route across Jebel Rum to Abu Aina. Camp at the entrance to Wadi Um Ishrin.
Day 3: We have a short drive by 4WD vehicle to Jebel Burdah and make the interesting scramble up to the Burdah Bridge. Descend to the desert and after lunch hike to camp near Jebel Um Frith.
Day 4: Today, we drive south to Jebel Khasch. We traverse this massif via its summit plateau in 4 hours, with great views in all directions. After lunch, we hike across the desert for 2 hours to our camp.
Day 5: We drive southwards to Jebel Um Adaami (1832m), close to the border with Saudi Arabia. Our climb to the top of this rocky mountain involves a round trip of a little over 3 hours. After lunch, we trek across the desert to our camp.
Day 6: Drive into Wadi Ramman and trek for 3 hours through Jebel Rum, via the Rakebat Canyon. After lunch at Rum Village, we drive to Wadi Musa (Petra) where we check in at our hotel.
Day 7: A short transfer takes us to Beida where we visit little Petra and then we hike the lesser known and quiet back trail to the Monastery, high above Petra. We have a full day in Petra with a qualified guide. There is also the option to visit Petra at night later this evening. Overnight at our hotel in Wadi Musa (Petra).
Day 8: We spend the morning at Petra, which gives us the opportunity to do some independent exploration of this amazing city and its rock architecture. Then, after lunch, we transfer to Amman Airport, arriving in the early evening, where KE Land Only package services end.
