**Luggage & daypack

Main luggage - For this holiday you may wish to pack your travel items in wheeled luggage rather than your KE Trek Bag. We use the efficient Japanese rail system to travel around the country. In most cases your baggage will be transferred separately but on those occasions where we move from one region to another, you will be responsible for carrying your luggage on to and off the train. We recommend travelling light as it will make your holiday much more relaxed if you don't have a large or heavy bag to deal with during these transfers.

Daypack – There are 4 nights when you will not have access to your main luggage. This is when the luggage cannot be easily transferred using the efficient Japanese courier system. These nights are on day 3 (Miyajima Island), and whilst walking along the trail on day 6 (Magone-juku), day 8 (Kiso-Fukushima) and day 10 (Karuizawa). You will need to carry with your overnight belongings (PJ’s / sleeping wear, toothbrush etc) as well as a waterproof, warm layer, camera, picnic etc on these nights.
