Kamchatka - Land of Ice and Fire
By: Albert Donatio, New Hampshire, USA
The local Russian guides were friendly and lots of fun to be around. Although their English was limited, we were able to communicate through the intrepreter. They were very good at their jobs. They were constantly looking out for us. They would stop by the side of the road to pick berries, wild mushrooms and salmon to feed us.Rob Fraser (our trek leader) was great! I never laughed so much on a trip as I did on this one. He was very enthusiastic and energetic. If it wasn't for him I don't know how our group would have communicated with the Russian interpreter. He was helpful on the trails and a motivator when necessary. I hope to travel on another of his trips in the future.Kamchatka was everything I expected and then some. The scenery, the treks, the Russian people and culture were experiences that I will treasure for a lifetime. I have wanted to visit this area for 20 years and and thankful that KE has started to plan trips there.

Everything went very
smoothly and easily, staff were very helpful.
Very good international group, lucky composition of people, cheerful
spirit, lot of humour - all these contributed to a good holiday.
