Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Bangkok. A single timed airport transfer is provided. The afternoon is free for independent sightseeing. KE Land Only package services begin with the overnight stay at the group hotel.
Day 2: This morning we'll see the main sights of Bangkok, making a visit to The Grand Palace and Wat Po before taking a longtail boat trip around the ancient Thonburi khlongs (canals). After lunch we'll drive (3 hrs) to Khao Yai National Park, where we check into our eco lodge accommodation.
Day 3: Today we will explore the park, one of Thailand's most impressive wilderness areas, on foot. Beginning with a guided walk we hope to see some of the 300 bird species, gibbons, macaques and possibly even wild Elephants. After a picnic lunch, the rest of the day is free for further exploration. Overnight in our lodge accommodation.
Day 4: We transfer to UNESCO-listed Ayutthaya. The best way to see the site is by bike and our short ride (9kms) will include Wat Phra Si Sanphet and other important temples. After lunch we'll drive out of town to visit some quieter outlying temples before joining local monks in their early evening prayers and meditation. An evening dinner cruise on a teak rice barge rounds off the day. Hotel.
Day 5: Today we transfer to Kanchanaburi (2-3 hrs) to visit the famous Bridge over the River Kwai and nearby war cemetery. At 10.55am we'll board a train on the infamous `Death Railway` to Nam Tok. After lunch at Hell Fire Pass, we'll transfer via long-tail boat for a journey up the River Kwai to our Raft Houses where we stay overnight.
Day 6: A full day to explore the jungle and river around our superb jungle-raft accommodation. You can choose to relax by the river, visit a local Mon minority village or take part in many of the optional activities on offer including canoeing, fishing, bird-watching or Elephant riding. Overnight in the raft houses.
Day 7: We drive to Taweechai Elephant Camp for an elephant ride and the chance to bathe with these amazing creatures. Thereafter we'll take a bamboo raft journey down the river before meeting our transport for the drive to Nakhom Pathon where we'll board an overnight train to Chom Porn. Overnight on board the train.
Day 8: Arriving in Chom Porn in the early hours, we'll take the Lompraya Ferry to Koh Tao. The ferry journey takes approximately 1 hr and 45 minutes. On arrival we'll check into our beach resort hotel for the next 4 nights.
Day 9: Today we enjoy a full-day boat trip around Koh Tao, stopping off for snorkelling at 5 separate areas - Ao Chalam (Shark Bay), Ao Luek, Hin Wong, Ao Muang and Nang Yuan Island. Life jackets and equipment will be provided and basic instruction given. We'll enjoy lunch aboard the boat. Overnight at Koh Tao beach resort.
Day 10: A free day on idyllic Koh Tao. You can choose to relax at the beach or join other optional boat excursions, fishing trips or even join a Thai cooking class. Your guide will help make any necessary arrangements. Overnight Koh Tao beach resort.
Day 11: Another free day on Koh Tao for you to enjoy. Overnight Koh Tao beach resort.
Day 12: A free morning before we depart Koh Tao in the early afternoon for the seatrain ferry to Chumpon. We'll arrive in the early evening and transfer to the train station before boarding the overnight train to Bangkok. Overnight aboard the train.
Day 13: Arriving in Bangkok in the early morning the rest of the day is free to explore this vibrant Asian city. Day rooms at the group hotel will be provided from 8am to 6pm. KE Land Only package services end with a single timed transfer to Bangkok Airport for homeward flight connections.
