We explore the local area, meeting some of the colourful local inhabitants of multi-ethnic backgrounds. A journey by long-tail boat on the Mekong takes us to Kamu Lodge, where we spend the night surrounded by jungle and traditional rice paddies. Journeying south, we visit the enigmatic Plain of Jars before checking out the activities on offer in the karst landscape valley of Vang Vieng. A visit to the laid-back Laotian city of Vientiane concludes our stay here before we fly south to Phnom Penh, the former French colonial capital city of Cambodia. Our journey concludes with a visit to the iconic and magnificent temples of Angkor Wat. With time to explore all the sites on foot, this is a true South East Asian odyssey.
