During this trip the group will spend 3 nights in dormitory guesthouses and 4 nights in mountain cabins. The dormitory guesthouse in Henningsvaer is actually a climbing & skiers lodges. The rooms are basic but clean and warm, the facilities are shared along with the kitchen. There is a café, climbing shop, and bar with fireplace to sit and read some of the many climbing books available on the area. In Svolvaer the group will stay in traditional sea houses (rorbu), right on the shores of the fjord. These characterful and traditional huts, have a comfortable communal area, bunked rooms, shared bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. A great place to spend our last night in the Lofoton Islands. The other 4 nights are at 2 different mountain cabins. These are unmanned cabins and we have to carry our food to the huts and the guide will prepare the meals (assistance from group members is always welcome!). These cabins are in typical wooden and clean Scandianvian style, have dormitory rooms of 5-10 beds and shared toilet facilities but no showers, electricity or running water. There is a kitchen and a living room with a fire place. Bedding is supplied at the huts however, you should bring a cotton or silk sheet sleeping bag liner or thin sleeping bag (see equipment list). Single accommodation is not available.
