Day 1: Arrive at Svolvaer airport. KE Land Only services start with a single timed transfer to Henningsvaer (approx 30mins). Henningsvaer is a traditional fishing village is spread out over a group of isles in the blue waters of Vestfjord. Here we overnight in a simple cabin in dormitory accommodation.
Day 2: Today we have a splendid walk in the vicinity of the mountain Vaagakallen (943m). The summit of this mountain is too technical to reach, so we ascend Glomtinden from the north and descend again eastwards with great views over Henningsvaer and the islands. Return to Henningsvaer for overnight. 5-6hrs walking.
Day 3: Leaving Henningsvaer we have a short transfer before walking the 1 hr 30mins to the Noekksetra cabin. We carry our personal belongings and some food supplies for the next couple of nights to the hut. The hut is situated next to a small lake and surrounded by peaks. After some lunch we explore the area on a 2-3 hr walk and maybe including the peak of Rismaalstinden. Overnight mountain cabin.
Day 4: We enjoy a day walk from the cabin to Rundfjellet peak (803m). The walk is relatively straightforward for the most part, with just a steep ascent towards to the summit. From here there are magnificent views in all directions of the fjords and peaks. We then return to the hut. Approx 6-7hrs walking.
Day 5: We return to the road where we can pick up some clean clothes & fresh supplies from the awaiting vehicle. We then transfer in the vehicle and then by boat through the famous Trollfjord and walk for 1hr to the Trollfjordhytta cabin. Again we carry our belongings and supplies to the cabin. In the afternoon we walk to a small peak for incredible views of the fjord. Overnight mountain cabin.
Day 6: From the Trollfjordhytta cabin we have a day walk to a nearby peak for some further views of the fjord and the islets of the Lofoten archipelago. We return to the cabin for a further night.
Day 7: Today we walk to the north of the hut where the valleys and peaks are accessible. We will enjoy a round trip of about 5-6hrs before returning to the hut to collect our belongings and walk to the fjord for our boat ride back to Svolvaer. We spend our last night in a traditional rorbu, or sea-house, in Svolvaer.
Day 8: After breakfast we have a single timed group transfer back to the airport at Svolvaer where KE Land Only services end.
