Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Upon arrival in Cusco (3326m), we are met by a KE representative who will arrange the transfer to our centrally located hotel. KE Land Only package services begin with this transfer. In the afternoon we will have a walking tour of this fascinating ancient city. Hotel.
Day 2: A day of sightseeing visiting the major Inca sites of the Cusco Valley using a mix of vehicles, horses and on foot. We will take a picnic lunch and visit Sacsayhuaman fort before returning to Cusco. Hotel.
Day 3: Rafting on the Urubamba River. The accent is on fun and full instruction is provided. After our session on the river we take a rarely used road along the Urubamba valley to Pisac where we will check into to our hotel and then visit the local artisan market.
Day 4: Transfer to Chinchero for mountain biking. Mostly downhill on old Inca trails through Maras village to the spectacular salt pans. Transfer through the Sacred Valley to Ollantaytambo where we check into our hotel.
Day 5: We drive to 'Kilometre 82' where we start the trek on the Inca Trail following the Urubamba River to Llactapata (2288m.). We arrive here in good time to explore these fascinating ruins. Camp.
Day 6: We continue our trek via the small hamlet of Huayllabamba and then ascend through the cloud forest of the Chaupihuayjo Valley to Llulluchapampa (3680m.). Camp.
Day 7: We reach the trek high point at the Warmiwanusca Pass (4200m.). En route, we visit Inca ruins at Runccuracay and Sayacmarca. Overnight at Phuyupatamarca. Camp.
Day 8: Our last day on trek follows a series of Inca stairways down to Winay Wayna. Passing through the Sun Gate, we enter Machu Picchu and transfer by bus to Aguas Calientes. Hotel.
Day 9: Return to Machu Picchu for a guided tour and optional ascent of Huayna Picchu. In the afternoon we take the train to the Sacred Valley and transfer by bus to Cusco. Hotel.
Day 10: A free day in Cusco for relaxing or for further exploration of this beautiful city. Hotel.
Day 11: KE Land Only package services end after breakfast. Complimentary airport transfers are provided.
