Four 4000 metre Peaks of Toubkal
Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Marrakech. Complimentary airport transfers are provided for clients arriving on this day. KE Land Only services begin with the evening meal. Hotel.
Day 2: We drive (1 hour) to Arba Tighedouine where we begin the trek following the Zat Valley through the Berber village of Talatast to Ait Stimane (1200m). Camp.
Day 3: Trek up onto the Yagour Plateau via the village of Ouarzazt. We camp at the high pasture of Agdal n'Irkane (2300m).
Day 4: Descending more than 1000 metres, we reach the village of Setti Fatima. After lunch trek towards the gorge of the Ourika and our camp at Agadir Ait Boulmane (1500m).
Day 5: A beautiful days trek through the Ourika Valley to the foot of the Tizi Boukchoud pass. Camp (2500m).
Day 6: Cross the Tizi Boukchoud (2976m) with superb views of the Toubkal range and descend to Adouz (2700m). Camp.
Day 7: Traverse of Adrar n'Dern (4001m) and descend to the head of the Tinzart valley (c. 3000m). Camp.
Day 8: After a short climb to the Tizi n'Ourai we make a long descent to the village of Amsouzart (1740m) where we stay overnight in a gite.
Day 9: Trek to Lake Ifni, the largest lake in the central Atlas. After lunch continue up into the Ounoums Gorge to a camp at 2700m.
Day 10: We start the day with a steep climb to the Tizi-n-Ouanoums (3650m). From there is the option to ascend Ouanoukrim (4088m), before descending to camp at 3207m.
Day 11: An early start for the ascent of Toubkal (4167m). From the summit we descend to camp by a different route. Camp.
Day 12: We ascend to the col of the Tizi Tadate (3800m). From here we have the option to ascend Bouguinoussen (4025m) before a descent to Tamsoulte (2100m). Camp.
Day 13: A final climb across the Tizi Mzik brings us to the end of the trek at Ait Souka. Here we stay overnight in a basic gite.
Day 14: Following a short walk down to Imlil we drive back to Marrakech. Afternoon sightseeing around the Djemaa-el-Fna and souks, with an English speaking guide. Celabration dinner.
Day 15: KE Land Only services end after breakfast. Complimentary airport transfers are provided for clients departing this day.
This holiday involves going to high altitude. During the course of your trip you will reach altitudes in excess of 3500 metres. This is not something that you should worry about; the human body is quite capable of adapting to a very wide range of altitudes, but it is important that we follow some simple rules in order to acclimatise successfully.
