If you are looking for a brilliant new walking holiday in the sun, this is one to consider. After a free day amongst the delights of Cape Town, we set off on a fully guided, 60 kilometre, 5-day hike, which will take us from the top of Table Mountain to Cape Point. Traversing the Peninsula Mountain Range, this walk offers an exhilarating mix of mountains, forest, white sandy beaches and cliff-tops, with views extending from Robben Island and Cape Town to the Atlantic Ocean, the Winelands and across False Bay to the mountains of Hottentots-Holland and Kogelberg. As a counterpoint to the surprising wilderness of this coastal reserve area, we will enjoy comfortable accommodation and warm hospitality at our overnight guesthouse accommodation. During the walk, our experienced local guide will be happy to explain this area's cultural history and to point out some of its fantastic range of plant and animal species. Check it out.
Is this holiday for you?
For this trip there are well marked paths along the Cape Peninsula in the mountains and we walk a certain section along the beach. In some parts the terrain is rugged but not technical. There are numerous ascents and descents. We walk 60 kilometres in 5 days, staying in comfortable accommodation each night and with our luggage transferred for us. We have given this trip our MODERATE grade. The days are quite long and distances hiked each day require that group members are in reasonably good physical condition.
