If you are looking for a variety of Alpine excitement, wrapped up in a week-long holiday package, then check this out! From our comfortable chalet base in the Chamonix Valley, we sample some of the best adventure activities that this world-famous mountain region can offer. We include the chance to try the very 'French' sport of canyoning, take a raft or canoe ride on the River Arve, tackle some introductory via ferrata above Passy and also visit a fun high ropes course. A free day in the valley allows some down time or a chance to try a whole range of optional activities, such as the Aiguille de Midi cable-car ride. As a fitting conclusion to the week (and for a 'real' Alpine experience) we trek to the Pierre Berard Refuge and overnight there, before completing our ascent of Mont Buet (3100m). Variety is the spice of life and that's what this excellent holiday is all about!
Is this holiday for you?
This is a superb activity week at the heart of the European Alps. On each of the activity days during the week, we will have an introductory course to a mountain adventure sport. No previous experience of any of these activities is required, but you will need to be in good physical condition and also have a basic understanding of what each activity involves. If you have any doubts about what is involved or your ability please contact the KE office. There is a free day on the trip which can be taken as a rest / sightseeing day or with the option of further activities (at extra cost). The holiday finishes with a 2-day ascent of Mont Buet, which is sometime used by people as a warm up to the ascent of Mont Blanc. Duriong this ascent we spend 1 night in a mountain hut. Otherwise we stay throughout in a comfortable and well-appointed chalet in Chamonix (Argentiere). We have given this trip the overall grade of MODERATE.
