Geography
Sandwiched between Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo and Albania, Montenegro is a small ‘Balkan' country with a beautiful coastline on the Adriatic. Pretty much the whole of the country is mountainous, with limestone peaks rising above 2000 metres in many locations - the country's biggest peak is Bobotov Kuk (2522m) in the Durmitor National Park. A narrow coastal plain, just a few kilometres in extent, stops abruptly in the north, where rugged mountains plunge into the inlet of the Bay of Kotor.

Montenegro time zone is GMT + 1hr. They do have DST (Daylight Saving Time) in the summer.

In Montenegro the speak Serbian, Albanian, Bosnian and Croatian.
Climate
Montenegro has a Mediterranean climate on the coast, with alpine conditions in the mountains. The average summer coastal temperature is 27°C.

Visa Requirements
You will need a valid passport. Nationals of the EU, the USA, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia do not require visas to visit Montenegro as tourists. Nationals of other countries should check the visa requirement with the relevant embassy in their own countries.

You should attend your own doctor and dentist for a check-up. No special vaccinations are required.
