On our classic discovery holiday circuit, we visit many of the major attractions, such as the striking dunes at Sossusvlei, the flamingoes at Walvis Bay and the charming coastal town of Swakopmund with its German colonial architecture. After a free day at Swakopmund with optional activities, we continue our journey northwards beside the Skeleton Coast and beneath Brandberg (2573m), the country's highest peak. We spend time with the nomadic Himba people in Damaraland and enjoy 2 days at Etosha National Park with a chance to spot elephant, black rhino, lion and many other species that visit the floodlit waterholes of this world-famous park. Before returning to Windhoek, we round off this excellent highlights tour with a final afternoon's walk amongst the red rock formations of Waterberg National Park. Is this holiday for you?
This touring and sightseeing adventure holiday incorporates many of the highlights of Namibia into less than 2 weeks. There is a fair amount of travelling, as we journey between the various sights. However, using private, air-conditioned vehicles, the effect of these journeys is kept to a minimum. Spending 2 nights in Swakopmund and 2 nights at a camp close to the Etosha National Park allows us some free time during the circuit. This holiday involves touring, sightseeing and game viewing and there will be a limited amount of walking, mainly on good trails although the ascent of Dune 45 will be on soft sand. Any walks will be short - this is not a trekking holiday. Accommodation is mostly in fixed camps, several of which have pools.
