The Polar Regions are truly the last frontier for sea kayaking. Paddling in this pristine, icy wilderness will overwhelm even the most seasoned adventurer. It is a rare opportunity, for few have experienced this magical place by kayak. Imagine silently gliding through a maze of ice floes, gazing upon wildlife with a glorious backdrop of deeply crevassed glaciers and ice-capped peaks jutting right out of the sea! It is essential to book early for this experience as places are limited to 20 places per cruise. You should expect to have around four kayaking excursions during your cruise.
Going eye to eye with an inquisitive whale is a rare and special moment that will carve itself into your memory. Kayaking isn't just an outdoor adventure, it's an opportunity to experience these remote regions from another vantage point. You'll venture out to sheltered bays and areas known for calmer waters and take part in group kayaking trips led by our experienced and skilled leaders. No other activity gets you as close to the natural environment! Kayaking excursions are dependent on weather but kayakers can expect around 4 trips per cruise. Previous kayaking experience is strongly recommended. You do not need to know how to roll a kayak or do a self-rescue. Professional guides will be onboard to help you with new skills or to offer coaching to improve your paddling performance. It is essential to book early for this experience.

Itinerary
Day: 1
We will endeavour to provide our kayaking activities as often as the ship's schedule, weather and ice conditions permit. Paddling excursions will typically last for one to two hours, with the possibility of an extended trip depending on the ship's scheduling and the weather and ice conditions. The purpose of our kayak excursions is to enjoy the scenery, wildlife and the sounds.

Cabin Upgrades
Onboard the M/S Expedition all cabins have ocean-facing portholes or windows and en-suite bathrooms. The standard cabin, CAT.1A is a quad, four people sharing, with bunk beds. You can upgrade your cabin to; a triple (CAT.1), a twin (CAT.2), a twin with window (CAT.3), a twin with picture window (CAT.4) or indeed a suite cabin... More

If you are travelling as a single then you will share a cabin with people of the same sex. All cabins upgrades are subject to availability at time of booking confirmation. Please note cabin choice can be more limited nearer departure.
