Day 7: From Gorosingha the trail climbs to a saddle above the Ghatta Khola and then traverses the Chuchuemara Danda westwards to reach an alpine-like ridge. We descend through forests of rhododendron, then birch and finally oak, amid spectacular scenery to reach the shores of Rara Lake (2980m). We now follow a shoreline trail taking us to the north side of the lake and our camp. 6 -7 hours trekking.
Day 8: A day to explore the lake and its environs. The wildlife here protected by the park include bears, cats, wolves and deer. Overnight camp at the lake.

Day 10: We climb up to the Ghurchi Lagna Pass (3460m) bedecked with chortens and prayer flags, then descend to the park boundary at Bulbule. Beyond here the trail enters a narrow wooded valley before reaching Chauta (2770m). Camp 5 - 6 hours.
