Notes:

Hiking Boots: On account of the boggy conditions which may be encountered on some sections of the trek, group members need to give serious consideration to their footwear. The best option in this respect is to take a comfortable pair of field boots (good quality, well-fitting wellingtons / gumboots) of the type which are actually designed for walking and which have a proper sole-unit. It is also possible to purchase wellingtons/gumboots in Uganda, which are suitable for the trip.

Mountaineering boots required for this trip: Your mountaineering boots must be warm and waterproof and must be rigid enough to take a pair of crampons securely without working loose and without cutting into the uppers. These boots must have a minimum of a B1 rating and preferably will be B2.
