This was true luxury trekking! After some longer days, it was a real treat to be greeted with hot towels and cocoa tea. (Not to mention outdoor hot tubs at three of the four lodges where we could observe the southern skies). The lodges were of a very high standard and fitted perfectly in the remote settings.
Our support team were most attentive and our cook prepared excellent meals both at the lodges and lunch stops. . The walking was on good trails with only one fairly long, day but being served a hot, three course lunch on the trail made it a lot easier. ( it was snowing on the high pass, but lunch was served under canvas which was most appreciated!)
Most enjoyed - Seeing Machu Picchu for the first time, from a vantage point few tourists see, was quite special!

Everything was great and it was a amusing when the driver made the sign of the cross before and after negotiating a difficult corner on the mountain pass.

I enjoyed all of it, it was one the most enjoyable, trouble free trips I have done. The logistics worked perfectly.

The lodges and their staff were superb. The food was remarkable considering remoteness. The hotel in Cusco was particularly good - quiet and classy.
Our guides Jairo and Danny were superb. Jairo was extremely professional as was Danny in a less serious sort of way. They were both very knowledgeable about plants, etc. I particularly enjoyed the transition from high terrain to cloud forest. Machu Picchu very impressive and interesting.
