From the depths of the Great Rift Valley to the vast plains of the Serengeti, a safari immediately evokes the sentiments of an incredible journey. Your introduction to Tanzania's diverse wealth of eco-systems is Lake Manyara, located at the bottom of the Rift Valley. Said to be Hemingway's favourite lake in Africa, Lake Manyara is famed for its wealth of cheeky African Baboons and tree climbing lions. Moving onwards to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area unveils a dramatic change in the landscape. With a diameter of 23km and a depth of 600m this ‘Garden of Eden' has the largest density of lions in Africa and if we're lucky, we may be able to spot an elephant descending into the crater to feed. The finale of this trip needs little introduction! The sweeping savannahs of the Serengeti National Park has made it the most famous game reserve in Africa. In search of the hunter or the hunted, Simply Serengeti is a seven day safari experience which will take you to centre stage of East Africa`s finest national parks.
Is this holiday for you?
This is a safari holiday, which necessitates spending some quite long periods of time in vehicles travelling and viewing game. Some of the roads will be rough, and bear in mind that after rain, conditions can become more difficult! There are 5 nights camping in national park campsites, where tents will be erected and a full camping service provided, but please bear in mind that on these nights facilities will be basic. However, the feeling of being in the wild amongst the animals more than makes up for this!
