Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Arolla. KE Land Only package services begin with dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Meet the Guides after breakfast. After a brief introduction to the week ahead and an equipment check we pack our rucksacks and depart mid-morning. We set off through alpine meadows to the Pièce Glacier where we can practice our glacier skills before climbing to the sensationally located Vignettes Hut where we stay overnight.
Day 3: Our objective today is to ascend the Pigne d’Arolla, a classic viewpoint. After breakfast, which is one of the best on offer in alpine huts, we gear up for glacial travel ascend, mainly on snow, with a short section on rock to the summit at 3790 metres. The ascent will take around 4 hours and afterwards we return to the hut via the same route. We spend a second night at the Vignettes Hut.
Day 4: Leaving the Vignettes we cross the Col de L'Eveque (3392m) and descend the Haute Glacier Arolla before climbing to reach the Bertol Glacier and our overnight stop at the Bertol Hut (3311m).
Day 5: Depending on conditions we will make an ascent of the Tete Blanche (3724m) for stunning views of the north face of the Matterhorn. We then descend the Stockji Glacier before climbing to the Schonbiel Hut (2694m).
Day 6: In the morning we descend to Zermatt where we have some time to look round the town before a short transfer and walk up to the Tachhutte (2701m). Approximately 4 hours to Zermatt and 2 hours to the Tachehutte.
Day 7: If conditions permit we will make a crossing of the Alphubeljoch and descent of the Fee Glacier to Langflue (2869m). From here we descend to Saas Fee and have a short walk to our hotel in Saas Grund.
Day 8: KE Land Only package services end with breakfast at the hotel.
