The food was amazing. Chef and all the crew could not have been better! Philemon was a great trip leader, friendly, approachable and knowledgeable.
The trip exceeded expectations. Amazing country. Can't recommend it highly enough. Fantastic scenery and incredible wildlife close at hand.

The trip was great. Level of trip was what I expected. Hiking part was awesome, especially Ras Dashen. I'm not much into cultural, but found this part of the trip enjoyable as well. Ethiopia is an amazing country. Glad I went!
Our guide Yonis was great! A true ambassador for his country. He looked out for everyone on the trip. Logistics were tricky - he did a great job.
Hotels very good for Africa! Accomodations on trek excellent. Coffee and warm water for washing every morning (unexpected bonus). Trek was what I expected. Perhaps a bit more difficult.
KE office staff were GREAT! Communication was easy and email correspondence was quick. I've taken trips with several companies and your staff gets an A+ with how they work with clients. Thanks.

I had an excellent trip - really enjoyed Ethiopia. The Ethiopians are very friendly especially when you make the effort to earn a few words. The Simien mountains are beautiful. I normally do more Difficult trekking tours with less cultural bits. However I enjoyed the churches and learning about the Ethiopian way of life.

The website is great and very user friendly!! Whenever I contacted the KE team, it was a friendly and professional response. The trip was fantastic. Dawoud our local Ethiopian leader was fantastic in organising the Ethiopian crew. They were so helpful and always smiling. It was never too much to ask for them, always ready to help. The accommodation was superb. The only minor point is that we did not have hot water one day from the hotel in Gondar but this was rectified in the other day we stayed there. It has been very good as the country overall has surprised me with its beauty, friendliness and good organisation overall!!

Karl was an excellent leader. However, the local guide Dawoud Sulayman was so incredibly knowledgeable, caring and patient that the whole trip ran amazingly smoothly. We mostly travel independently but will certainly do a KE trip again for a more adventurous destination.

The local guide was exceptional. The trip really seemed to go without a hitch, and was very well organised. The food on the trek was far better than I had dared hope for!Gold star for the cook and helpers!

I had high expectations and they were all met. If anything the standard of hotel accommodation was higher than I had anticipated.

We have been on a trek with Serena before, and it was partly because she was the leader on this trek that we booked it. She is an excellent leader - attending to detail, ensuring that everyone's needs are met. She is very client focussed. She is thorough, pays attention to detail and provides a lot of information, ensuring that everyone knows what is going on , where they need to be when etc. She sensitively assisted Kura (the local guide) and worked with him very well, so that there skills and experience complimented each other for the benefit of the group, and that Kura also had the opportunity to pick up a few tips about how he could improve upon the service he offered. That said, Kura was great, with a wealth of information about his country and always helpful, enthusiatic and approachable.

I most enjoyed the sense of achievment in completing the trek, campfires and dancing, visiting the school, the coffee making cermony, and the company of others on the holiday.

Tom Richardson was an really excellent leader in all respects. Omar, was a masterful fixer and negotiator. He was knowledgeable on Ethiopian history, society, religion etc though he sometimes struggled to express it all with his English. He is learning fast though. Haile, Simien National Park guide, was excellent. Good knowledge of flora and fauna and very observant so we saw as much as possible. Very good English and easily understood. We particularly appreciated the impropmtu entertainment he and the trek crew provided for us on the penultimate trek night.

Great leader, excellent company, fabulous sightseeing, challenging trek. I have been on 13 overseas treks now and had many good or excellent leaders. Tom Richardson was at the very top of the tree.

Fabulous trek in awesome Simien Mountains with unrivalled scenery and wildlife. No other groups in the area, very peaceful & amazing views. Great locals living as they have done for generations, untouched by technology or the internet age. Knowledgeable local guides. Gondar & Lalibela a bonus. Ethiopian food was enjoyable on and off trek.

The Ethiopian trek leader, Getent Akalu, was fantastic. His knowledge of the Simien National Park was encyclopaedic and he had a wonderful enthusiasm for the flora and fauna, such that we saw and enjoyed all but one of the indigenous animals and birds. His pacing of the climbing and walking was perfect and he controlled his trekking staff firmly and with sensitivity. Together with Adrian the trek leader he made for a perfect trek.

The trekking was fantastic. A little bit quick paced for me on one or two days, however it was my first time at altitude and my first trek. People are amazing considering what the country has been through. Scenery is fantastic, had lots of comments already on photos taken. Overall - trip leader, trek guide, trek cook and trek crew were excellent. I will definitely be using KE again and am indeed already looking through the brochure.

My most enjoyed aspects of the trip were the amazing scenery in the Simien Mountains, the trekking and the incredibly tasty food. Both our guide and trip leader were very knowledgeable, attentive, patient, responsive and dedicated to the well being of every single member of the group.

A tough trip (but that's how I like it). A true 'walk on the wild side'! The true WILDERNESS experience. This was a great way to 'get the system out of my system'. The icing on the cake was getting to the summit of Ras Dejan Mountain.
Local agents and support crew adept at adjusting to the needs of the participants. Great logistics structure. Our guide Yonas is a first class bloke! Well done all of you. A magic trip which gave me many memories!

I most enjoyed the balance between the trekking part and the cultural sight seeing historical bits. The walking was harder than I expected, although it was made clear in the initial information about the heights climbed. I have done two previous trips with KE and found them very good.
