School Adventure - Adventure in the Julian Alps

The following checklist should help you with your packing. As a general rule, you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum.

You must bring the following items:

Walking boots which are comfortable for scrambling

Trainers / sneakers (for hut use)

Socks

Trekking trousers / pants

Lightweight waterproof overtrousers / rainpants

Underwear

Shorts

Thermal baselayer shirts (2 short sleeve, 1 long sleeve)

T-shirts and/or casual shirts

Fleece jacket or warm jumper

Lightweight waterproof jacket

Sun hat or cap

Warm hat

Eyewear-Sunglasses

Lightweight thermal gloves

Daypack 40 litres / 2500 cu in

Headtorch / headlamp with spare bulb and batteries

Basic First Aid Kit - refer to trip dossier for details

Sun protection (including total bloc for lips, nose etc.)

Water bottles 1 litre / 1 quart (x2)

Small towel

Washbag and toiletries

The following items are optional:

Travel clothes

Trekking poles

Camera, batteries

Small padlock (to lock trek bag)

Spare laces

Insect repellant

Earplugs (Especially if you are not the one snoring)

Sheet sleeping bag liner (for huts)

Swimming kit (for the lake in Bled on final afternoon)

Antibacterial hand wash

Wet wipes (note that the Razor Planina Hut often has no water available for washing)

Penknife (remember to put all sharp objects in hold baggage)

Via Ferrata Equipment (provided locally)

Via ferrata lanyard

Climbing harness

Climbing helmet
