UK and Irish citizens should apply for their visas in advance of arrival in Kenya via the e-visa portal, www.ecitizen.go.ke.
Until September 1st 2015 it is also possible to get your Kenya visa on arrival at Nairobi Airport. You will need to fill in a form and supply one passport photo. Note that a single entry visa is valid for reentry into Kenya from Tanzania and Uganda. The fee for a single entry visa is $50 and must be paid in cash. Sterling is accepted. After September 1st 2015, the facility to obtain Kenyan visa on arrival will be withdrawn.
Non UK or Irish citizens, please check the visa fee and application procedure directly with the Kenya in your own country.
Please note a current Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required for travel between Kenya and Tanzania.
US Passport Holders
If applying for your visa in advance please contact the nearest consulate. The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya is located in Washington DC and full consular services including visas are provided in consulates in New York and Los Angeles
Visa applications MUST be made online initially. You will then need to print and sign the completed form and send this along with your KE booking confirmation with itinerary, 2 passport sized photographs, your passport, and the visa fee by money order made or cashiers cheque made out to the Embassy of The Republic of Kenya. For return of passport you should enclose a self-addressed stamped return courier envelope for Fedex, Express Mail, Certified Mail or Priority Mail with delivery confirmation (note: UPS, Metered stamps and Regular mail are not acceptable).
