A great trip with a good mix of mountains and secluded beach trekking. The ascent of Mgoun was particularly enjoyable as it was a relatively quiet area and a beautiful mountain range. Our guide Hamid was an excellent guide and and exceptionally informative about the culture, history and countryside of Morocco. he had a great sense of humour but was always looking out for the well-being of all on the trek. The food on the trek was excellent and our cook Ali produced amazing meals throughout the trek - we were always amazed at the beautiful salads and tagines he produced.

The coastal trek south from Essaouira was an unexpected delight: I booked the holiday on the strength of the high Atlas elements but the walking along deserted beaches and cliffs was superb, and showed another side of Morocco that I suspect few visitors get to see.

The first part of the trip was aborted due to poor weather and this was disappointing but unavoidable. Mustafa coped with this situation admirably and we enjoyed a tour of the Bougamez valley. I enjoyed walking through the villages and talking to our guides about the local culture and architecture. I feel I had a truly 'Moroccan' holiday in every way. The three separate aspects of the trip gave scope to see large parts of the country. We were very well fed!! Indeed exhorted to eat more and more at each meal. Mustafa was a fount of knowledge of the Bougamez valley and made our trip very, very interesting. I had a previous trip with KE: Jiri to Everest Base Camp, and was very impressed with the service I received - this trip was just as impressive and I will certainly be back again to KE.

Our guide, Hamid, is a charming young man. He taught himself English, studied hard for qualifications, I wish him every success in life.
Great sense of humour and quick to recognise and imitate Engish dialects.
Ali is an excellent cook, high standards maintained throughout trek, always healthy, fresh food, beautiful presentation.
I soaked up the healthy food, sun, found the mountain walking exhilarating. Stunning beaches. I most enjoyed the mountain views, no cars, no air pollution, away from consumerism. Small number of Trekkers on M'Goun.
