School Adventure - Oman Multi-Activity
Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Arriving at Muscat Airport, we meet our local guide or a KE representative and transfer to the group hotel. We have lunch and time to visit the beach, before a late afternoon guided city tour. We visit the Sultan's Palace and the Muttrah Souq and have dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight at our Muscat hotel.
Day 2: We have a deep-water dolphin watching cruise in the morning and also stop off at a deserted beach for snorkelling and kayaking. After lunch, we return to port and drive south, stopping off after an hour and a half, to set up our wild camp on the beach.
Day 3: After a quick morning swim and breakfast, we transfer to Wadi Shab and hike to the natural swimming pools in time for lunch. We then drive south to Ras al Hadd and our beach resort accommodation. We have an evening visit to the turtle reserve at Ras al Jinz.
Day 4: After breakfast, we drive to the Wahiba Sands, stopping off at some waterfalls for a swim. Meeting our Bedouin hosts at their camp, we can explore the dunes on camel back or go sandboarding. Overnight under the stars around the campfire.
Day 5: After more time to explore the dunes, we set off on the drive to the old capital of Nizwa, stopping to visit traditional villages en route. On arrival at our hotel, we can jump into the swimming pool before our evening meal.
Day 6: We explore the town of Nizwa, with its fort and busy market streets or 'souks'. After a traditional Omani lunch, we drive up into the mountains and set up our wild camp on Jebel Shams, Oman's highest peak. We can enjoy sunset over the 'Grand Canyon' from a nearby viewpoint.
Day 7: Setting off from Al Kateen, we walk the 'Balcony Trail' along the edge of the canyon through abandoned villages. Returning to our 4WD transport, we drive back to Muscat via Wadi Ghul and Nakhr Village. Dinner and overnight in our Muscat hotel.
Day 8: After breakfast at our hotel, we transfer to the airport to check in for our homeward flight.
Learning Outside the Classroom
If you have a particular part of your curriculum that needs fulfilling whilst you are away, we are more than happy to work this into your itinerary. Incorporating learning objectives into your School Group Adventure allows the pupils to engage with the learning process. If you send us your list of criteria, we will write the programme for you.
